When drafting this post, the blog engine prompted me: write this story! And I shall, even if I'm the only one reading the following images and thoughts!
I've met these two a while ago. And we tried to create some imagery together before the wedding. I said tried because I'm not so happy with what I've accomplished, I didn't have the feeling I've nailed it. As a result, I've looked forward to their wedding day with a mix of doubt and self-motivation. What if we don't fit? What if I fail? Perhaps the biggest fear for me, as a wedding photographer, is not understanding the couple, not being able to tell their story.
As I've chosen the images for this post, I noticed that I selected many 'singular', simple and without much context photos. Not my usual selection. But I came to think that maybe this is appropriate for them. Of course there are tons of images with people around. Lots of expressions, emotions. Nevertheless, the following are more about solitude, couple and each of them!
Let's begin with several images from the civil ceremony. And Alexandra, no worries girl! Almost all your images are colored and just a few are squared! So that you know!
Right after the ceremony, preparations started!
Andrei got dressed in a somptuous apartment right at Le Chateau! My first time there and I was impressed! Great service, impecable overall image!
Alexandra chose 1Concept for make-up and hair! And I'm glad she did, we had fun, space, lots of angles and more than welcoming people!
Here are theBurza's wonderful videography team! We had a blast together for two days and one night!
Shots during Alexandra's getting ready, at her place!
Father helping along, I've felt a little guilty watching him trying to hold back his emotions...
Alexandra, as beautiful as she is, played along and provided some great opportunities for me to shoot stylized imagery that suits her and pleases the eye!
Sometimes, even the videographer can be a nice foreground, filling in the scene with abstract shapes! And one of Alexandra's friends adding to the context, furniture as a reframing opportunity! What can I say, true photography lesson for you :)
There are churches and churches. Here, at Saint Cross, ceremony meets what I think should happen during every wedding: elegance, sobriety, essential, trust, love!
We drove to the shore of Tei Lake for some evening images with baloons and colored smoke. Great opportunity to play and to see them properly. An amazing couple, enjoying their day and still allowing us the opportunities for a great shot :) Not to speak of the beautiful body posture and language! Easy job for me and the video crew!
Back to Le Chateau, this time for the party! And boy what a party it was!
Kids are kids, no matter the place!
Valy Stoleru band fulfilled every expectation. Funny, engaging, wellspread repertoir, polite and, above all, great singers!
Off it goes!
Two days after, we drove (I drove, to be precise, all the team: bride, groom, three Burza's in my old and trusty Benz van) to Black Sea shore in Mangalia for some after-wedding photos. We arrived in time for this beautiful sun-setting light and boy I think we did a great job together!
Yes, it's the moon upthere!
In-between shots add the movement and dramatism of unexpected! I prefer it this way over the stylized posing. Actually none of these images are prompted, we just considered the place and the angle we saw the scene. Everything else is Alexandra and Andrei living the moment!
They hired Capella boat for a short trip out on the sea. But waves were something to be considered so we didn't venture too far away. Just enough for some ethereal shots!
Guys and girls, thank you! Truly thank you, you welcomed all of us (photo-video team) as friends and I hope I managed to reach your expectations. There are many-many more images coming your way, just wait. It's been a busy unexpected year and I'm still trying to get a grip on all things to be delivered!
Many thanks to my 'brother in-arms' Alexandru Constantinescu for all the love, support, second-shooting and great company!
As usual, I am eager to know what do you all feel reading this story! Have you read previous ones? Don't be shy, leave a comment!
